Worship Leaders assist in the planning and preparation of Collective Worship in school; lighting candles to open worship and selecting music, hymns and prayers.
They are also responsible for ‘meeting and greeting’ parents, carers, governors and members of the church community during ‘Christ Church Community’ afternoons. Worship Leaders also assist during our termly ‘Church Sundays’ at Christ Church Woodhouse.
Our Worship Leaders have recently undertaken training with our School Adviser from the Diocese of Leeds in adopting a structured, child-centred approach to leading Collective Worship independently in school.
The Worship Leaders are working well together to achieve this and are already planning their next whole school collective worship linked to our half-termly theme.
In April 2020, Worship Leaders from Christ Church CE Academy will be joining others from our fellow Church schools in the Trust to work with our School Adviser so that they can share experiences and ideas to further develop their skills and experience in leading collective worship.
