Your health and well-being
Here at Christ Church CE Academy we care very much about your health and well-being and how this can help you to further support your children at home.
This year, our Safeguarding & Inclusion Lead; Mrs Jayne Connor will be working alongside Dee, a Parent and Community Worker within the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Kirklees.
Dee's role is to raise awareness and increase knowledge around mental and emotional health and how the impact of parents/carers own mental health needs can affect the children and young people who they care for.
Throughout the year, as part of our coffee mornings, Dee will be offering the following Parent and Community Workshops:
- An Introduction to Children and Young People's Mental Health
- Positive Communication and Attachment
- Understanding and Supporting Anxiety
- Behaviour as Communication
- Supporting Sleep
- Looking After Yourself - self-care for parents
- The Teenage Brain
Dee will also be offering a range of sessions to promote parents/carers self-care including:
- Pamper sessions
- Well-being walks
- Mindfulness Sessions
Drop in sessions and 'Chill n' Chat' will also provide parents and carers with the opportunity to come and have an informal chat around emotional well-being, self care and mental health within an informal and supportive environment.

If you are interested in events and support of this type, then please catch Mrs Connor one morning/afternoon or wait for the invitations coming home!
