SMARTIES is an intervention group aimed to support the social and emotional development of pupils using principals
based on the Thrive Approach.
Activities are carefully planned to allow pupils to develop their social communication skills and skills of social interaction
and co-operation.
Within the sessions, we follow a topic based approach aimed to develop key skills needed to manage the challenges
of a large classroom environments and prepare them for further education and situations that may arise in later life.
Activities used to promote wellness include:
•sensory room
•social eating
•art and craft
•Forest School
Our topic this term is The Great Fire of London
Our PE unit this term will be delivered by a sports coach and will be based around mindfulness with activities
aimed to reduce anxiety and help the pupils manage challenging situations.

SMARTIES is run by Miss Morgan and Mrs Knight. It is a fun place to be.
